Ministry Reorganization

A December 4, 2009, announcement from the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and the Arts, posted by Victoria's Douglas Magazine, shows that the BC Arts Council is now under the umbrella of "Tourism Development":

This past summer, the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and the Arts made a commitment to industry to update our overall delivery model to maximize efficiency and effectiveness across our organization. It gives me pleasure to announce our new organizational structure for the Ministry, incorporating Tourism BC, effective Tuesday, December 1st. This model identifies the five lines of business within the Ministry and who will be providing leadership in each area. Although there have been some changes in individual areas of responsibility, the programs that you have come to rely on are all still in place.

They are:

Raymond Chan - Strategy and Policy - includes: Tourism Policy, Research and Planning, Olympics, Secretariat for Minister's Council on Tourism, Cultural Services and BC Film Commission.
Grant MacKay - Consumer Marketing - includes: North American Marketing, Overseas marketing, Marketing Communications, E-business and Marketing IT Strategy.

Peter Walters - Tourism Development - includes: Tourism Development, Resort Operations, Heritage, Archaeology, Recreation, Sites and Trails, BC Arts Council and Crown Agencies: Royal BC Museum and Provincial Capital Commission.

Susan Rybar - Tourism Partnerships - includes: Visitor Services, WorldHost® Programs, Tourism Product Management, Partnership Marketing, Sector Development and City Destinations and British Columbia Magazine.

Shauna Brouwer - Management Services - includes: Corporate Policy and Planning, Finance and Administration, Information Systems, Strategic Human Resources and Crown Agency: BC Pavilion Corporation.
